Many of the articles I read on recovering from a virus infection recommend a "low level format" of the hard disk as part of the process. What is a "low level format" and how does it differ from just using the DOS FORMAT command? Thanks in advance for any information. Many thanks to all those who sent me messages about low-level formatting. I now have a very clear idea of what it does and when to use it.
