Thanks to the help of several people on the net, I've discovered that it is quite easy to make the Happy Mac Screen turn into anything you please. Just include a startupscreen file in the system folder. This is exactly what a clever person did. SuperPaint lets you create these automatically. I would think it was rather clever if I hadn't spent the day wringing my hands.
