The only thing to be done about your current rust problems is sandpaper,
bondo and paint. Once that is done, I would suggest oil-spraying
your car twice yearly. Up here, they usually go quite overboard
on the salt, so I have been doing this since I got my car (spring '80)
and the only rust is some surface rust from stone chips.
