OFFICE MEMO Virus Alert Date: 8/20/90
We have just received a report that SecureWare, Inc. has, for a short time been
shipping its CMW+ product with a Mac OS partition that is infected with the
nVir virus (mostly files in the system folder). The Virex program will
successfully detect this virus.
SecureWare was alerted and, upon investigation, established that their
master system was indeed infected. As a result, all drives shipped by
SecureWare are potentially infected, including those provided with the WIS
workstations. SecureWare will be sending letters to all their customers
explaining the situation and hopefully providing a remedy.
This is all of the information that we have at this time. Please alert those
users in your areas of this virus alert. If any are using this product, urge
them to use rid their machines of the virus and to contact SecureWare.
