[comp.virus] Origin of screen effect code in the JOJO virus.

SRWHITE@YKTVMH.BITNET (Steve.R.White) (08/29/90)

The screen effect code in the JOJO virus appears to come from the
program DAZZLER.ASM which was listed in the "User-to-User" section of
PC Magazine (Nov. 24, 1987; pages 386-388). It was also one of the
programs included with the book PC Power Tools, published in June
1988. The code in the virus is virtually identical, with at most a
tiny number of changes.

In particular, it is very likely that any virus scanner using the
screen effect code as its signature string will give a false positive
indication on the program DAZZLER.COM.
