    Possibly not a virus (Mac)
With regards to the possible explanation about the "kitty cat virus" being
the result of a corrupted DA, check if the user has the DA Neko running.
Neko is a DA whose sole purpose is to display a cute kitten running around
after a mouse. I hope that is the answer. We don't need any more
viruses.

[New MacVirus?] 'little kitty-cat faces' in menu bars, then reboots 172

the 'kitty-cat face' funny may be [Possibly not a virus (Mac)] 175

More likely the 'little kitty-cat faces' are merely the #172 message's
sender's informant's first impression of that graphical character that
often crops up among binary junk that viruses and miscellaneous
malfunctions send to screen, the common smileface. To appear in menu bars,
they would have to be only one character high, which is not likely for a
picture of a cat as guessed by the #175 message.
