[net.auto] Rabbit Clutch

I have a 1978 Rabbit with 60,000 miles on it.  The clutch is beginning
to chatter, and it only engages at the very top of the pedal travel.
It may need a new clutch -- before I go into hock for that, I'd like
to try to adjust it -- maybe I can get a few more miles out of the
old clutch.  Does anyone out there know how to adjust the clutch pedal
travel?

Once I naively adjusted my clutch to get a few more miles
out of it and ended up damaging the flywheel, incurring
substantial extra expense.  My advice: don't do it.
