In my experience, F-PROT is more reliable (and easier to use) than
McAfee's or Norton's products (I haven't looked at Virex-PC.)  The
latest version (1.15) is available via anonymous ftp from
beach.gal.utexas.edu.

F-PROT is less expensive than both.

There is nothing similar to SAM for the PC.  The PC's hardware
prevents the type of floppy disk checking that SAM uses on the Mac.
