I am interested in allowing other users to read my mail. I DO NOT want public access, that is too easy. I want group access. I want to specify that mary and fred can read mailbox /usr/mail/phil, but that no-one else on the system (other than phil himself) can read this mailbox. The docs for mush only indicate that there may be problems with rmail in this regard. I have used other SYSV mail programs (but liked none of them as well as mush -- we LOVE mush!) that would allow you to make lists of access priveleges, ie: I make a list of logins that can read my mailbox, and can specify permissions for read/write: mary RW fred R Can I do something like this for mush? In another vein... I can specify permissions with the MAILCHECK variable, but SYSV rmail doen't use it, nor does it do setuid, only setgid. Therefore I find it hard to see a way to do group permissions using just rmail. I have heard of sendmail, but have not seen it in the archives. Is a SYSV version available? Or am I missing a possibility with rmail. Certainly many of you have greater grey matter than I, so this message. Any suggestions are welcome. +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ | | Phil Meyer | | Your belief cannot alter tuth.| Usenet: <backbone>!attctc!lodestar!phil | | | VoiceNet: (214) 991-0897 | +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+
