[ Note to comp.mail.mush readers: This message is being mailed to the mush-users mailing list. A copy will automatically be posted to the newsgroup. If you've already seen the Patch #1 announcement, you may ignore this message. Note to everybody else: Ignore the following line. It disables the command processing in my mail server in case this message bounces, which I'm certain it will. @OFF Thank you. ] Official Patch #1 for Mush-7.0 has been posted to comp.mail.mush. The summary of changes has been appended. If you have received a copy of mush-7.0 via the automated mail server, and you do not have access to the comp.mail.mush newsgroup, you can retrieve this patch by sending mail to me: <schaefer@cse.ogi.edu> or {rutgers, harvard, garp, ucsd}!ogicse!schaefer Include in your message a line of the form: @PATCH patch-number path-from-ogicse-to-you where patch-number is of course 1. Future patches will also be available from this server. Note that the @ character must be included and must be the first character on the line. Also, be sure you use a complete uucp path or valid Internet address as the path-from-ogicse-to-you; our mailer does not understand addresses of the form "user@host.UUCP" and does not talk directly to "uunet". If you must include "uunet" in the path, use "uunet.uu.net!host!yourlogin". If you sent an @MUSH request and haven't received your sources by now, you may need to resend; several bounced shippings have been discarded and one request had both an incomplete path and was missing the leading @. Also, any @MUSH requests serviced after approximately 2:30pm today already include patch #1; check your version.h file to see if you need the patch. Changes/Fixes in this patch: Attempted to fix problems with textsw handling on SunOS 3.5. This is the shakiest part of the patch since I have no 3.5 Suns to test on. Bogus Bcc: header in logfiles eliminated. Added Tom Neff's change for -F! so it won't complain about redirection. Improved/expanded the description of script usage in the man page. Some miscellaneous lint warnings dealt with. Put notes for Ultrix in makefile.bsd where they're easier to spot. Enjoy. -- Bart Schaefer "Miserable miscreant! Question MY integrity, will you?"
