Ever since the 55 mph law was passed, American highways have fallen apart. The reason why is because the average car stays on the high- way longer. Thus putting more pressure on the road causes it to wear out faster. During the pre55 era the cars(and trucks) would fly over the road and not put as much pressure on the asphalt. So the law should be doubled to 110mph to save our nation's highways. Also, about it being safe at 55 mph, it doesn't matter because when they pass a national gun control law, highway deaths will more than double. (P.S. The 55 mph was heavily lobbied for by am radio stations that were located at 55 on the am dial.)
