I am trying to port mush 6.5 to SCO UNIX/SystemV. I am running the supplied MMDF MTA and have gotten as far as full compilation without 'DOT_LOCK' defined. My problem is that I cannot find the file locking functions 'lk_lock' and 'lk_unlock'. I then defined DOT_LOCK and commented out the MMDF locking functions in lock.c. Everything worked except MMDFBIN/submit cannot access the text file which contains the letter..... Could anyone with experience porting mush to SCO UNIX and using the MMDF MTA care to share their experiences. Thanks. Phil Kemp kemp@convex.com Phil Kemp CONVEX Computer of Canada Ltd. In the config.h file leave everything defined as if for sendmail except that you should define mmdf's mail separator ^A^A^A^A. Also make sure all the directory/program perms are correct. There is an mmdf utility that does that. The perms were incorrect as delivered. SCO mail ran fine but mush bombed. And finally you'll what the run deliver as a deamon or you'll find your mail languishing in obscure directories know only to mmdf and the extremely curious. So in the file /etc/rc.d/8/userdef put the line su root -c "/usr/bin/mmdf/deliver -b -clocal,uucp" and all your mail will be delivered not necessarily right away but in a timely fashion. ==larry -- LARRY SHIELDS USENET: ...!frith!lunapark!larry P.O.
