Many of our users have complained that mush doesn't have an option to always automatically cc themselves. (metoo only includes the sender if the recipients includes an alias, which includes the sender. Berkeley mail documents metoo the same, but in fact seems to always cc the sender, regardless of any aliases.) Someone pointed out using "set record"; eg, "set record=/usr/spool/mail/stanonik". Does mush lock the record file? If not, then this method risks losing mail if new mail arrives coincidently with mush updating the record file. Another frequent complaint is that mushtool reply can't be configured (per user) to be replyall. Are we overlooking some option? Thanks, Ron Stanonik stanonik@nprdc.navy.mil ucsd!nprdc!stanonik

Yes -- it locks the record file and will also lock the spool file if it has to. You will not lose new mail.. > Another frequent complaint is that mushtool reply can't be configured > (per user) to be replyall. Are we overlooking some option? I assume you mean that you want the reply button to do replyall without having to bring up the menu... there's no way to do that. But, you can bind a function key: fkey F4 replyall -- dan ---------------------------------------------------- O'Reilly && Associates argv@sun.com / argv@ora.com Opinions expressed reflect those of the author only.

I think a useful enhancement would be to be able to have mush put a copy of any message you originate on the end of your current folder. I always save my replies in the same folder as the message I reply to anyway. Maybe the routine that looks at the record variable could be made to recognise and expand a special string, such as "<current-folder>"? -- Tim Cook Systems Administrator, Victoria College Computer Services parrot - n.
