[comp.mail.mush] Problem in sending mail

QQ11@LIVERPOOL.AC.UK (Alan Thew) (04/09/91)

A simple example of sending mail....
(uxb) [51] qq11# mush qq11
To: qq11
Subject: test

this is a test
send, continue editing, discard [s,c,d]? s

At this point problems can and do occur. If I press CTRL-D to get the
"send, ..." prompt and then press "s" quickly (as if I had type ahead),
mush then appears to hang although the process to actually
do the sending has already started. Sometimes I can recover, sometimes I
cannot and have to have the process killed.

While I am aware that type-ahead is not a Un*x feature, the above action
(i.e. quick typing of commands) seems a reasonable day-to-day scenario.
This has happened on HP-UX (6.6 and 7.0) and SunOS (4.1) systems.
