After you have compiled/installed the main parts of the Andrew distribution (overhead, atk, ams) you have to do a 'make install' of andrew/xmkfontdir which sets up the approripriate fonts.dir and fonts.alias file in your $DESTDIR/X11fonts directory If you did do this - then you also need to make sure that $DESTDIR/X11fonts (in it's expanded form - not $DESTDIR form) appears in your fontpath - I believe the command would be: xset fp + <path-to-dir> Hope this helps. --fish
