[comp.soft-sys.andrew] ATK on 6152's

tobeye@NORTHSTAR2.DARTMOUTH.EDU (Anthony Edwards) (07/31/89)

I'm not sure how many IBM 6152's there are at CMU or even if they
are used in public clusters, but I was wondering if you have the same
problem with them as we do:
The newest ATK software (X11R3 distribution) doesn't run ideally on
the 6152's we have. The 6152's are color machines. When highlighting
a region (which usually just reverses black letters on white backround to
white letters on black background), the region becomes pale letters on a
yellow background, which is totally unreadable.
I suspect this problem arises because the ATK software is simply
XORing the region of the highlight. On a color machine, XORing colors
produces weird colors (to me, they all look pale/gross and yellowish).
... Just thought the ATK software group might like to know this ...
Has anyone else run into this or found a solution around this? (Any
source pathes?)

PS For those following the 'disconnecting mail from messages' saga:
sure, I will try out your suggestions and tell you how it works out, but
I haven't had the chance yet.
