Well, I meant to send the following message to just this newsgroup, but somehow I made the association "andrew=CMU=mach", and posted the message to the wrong newsgroup... so if you've seen this already, sorry... I'm interested in finding out about the availability of any of the versions of AFS from CMU. I understand that the Transarc Corporation has somehow licensed or purchased distribution rights, but I haven't had any luck with dealing with them. It's next to impossible to even get in touch with them, let alone try to get any meaningful information. Basically, can any part of CMU/IBM give/sell a copy of AFS 3.0 to an educational institution? I certainly don't want to reinvent the wheel, but if we've got to go through Transarc, it looks like thats what we may have to do... Tharen D.
