The ITC is planning to sponsor an Andrew Toolkit user-group meeting sometime this Spring. The purpose of this post is to get some indication of how many people might be interested in attending so we can plan accordingly. This gathering will consist of informal presentations by interested developers, some general discussions of where ATK has been and where it is going, and the opportunity for ATK enthusiasts to swap stories and interact. From the ITC's perspective, this meeting should provide some important feedback on its past work and polices. Specifically, we hope to learn who is using our system, what they have found it useful for, why they have found it useful, and what problems they are having; all of which will be important data as we consider the future of ATK. We also hope to meet like-minded researchers and learn of externally generated Atk based projects. If you think you might like to attend this meeting, please send me mail indicating your interest. E-mail is preferable, but responses via Fax or US Mail are also welcome. Just a note saying "I am interested" will be fine, though you are invited to provide some additional input along the following lines: 1. What you would like the meeting to cover. a. What are you interested in hearing from the ITC. b. What you are interested in hearing from other developers. 2. If you have any ATK related work that you would like to present. If so, please include a brief summary. Possible subjects include, but are not limited to: ATK based applications and insets Adew Ness Ams Oda ATK experiences w/ Porting Developing Supporting Future work Printing models Color models Video Voice Motif Xtk If you know of any colleagues that might be interested, but don't receive this newsgroup, please forward this mail to them. A summary of responses, a more formal call for presenters, and further information on the meeting itself will be posted here as they become available.
