(a) This still sounds more confusing than Cut/Copy/Paste

It's actually a rather nice learned motion, available (so far as I know,
and since I'm neither the originator of this complaint nor a
shift-select fanatic, that's not very far) in Xerox ViewPoint and
Interlisp-D.  We here at PARC have only two keyboard types to worry
about, Sun Type-3 and Type-4, for Andrew.  We'd have to arbitrarily
designate keys (well, arbitrary within the limits of X).
