1. I've not been able to find way to save the changed message. The ^X^S and ^X^W key commands don't work. Filing the message to the folder mail says that the message is already there. Filing the message to a new folder moves the file that was in mail to the new folder, rather than the modified contents. 2. You can only modify one message in an messages session. I made changes to one message, and then clicked back in the captions sub-window to read another message. After that, following EXACTLY the same procedure (clicking in the message window and write-enabling the buffer), did NOT turn off keyboard commands. I could not even enter a <space>. The work around for this is to restart messages from scratch. Please let me know if you can't duplicate this behavior. I have ESC~ re-bound and had to use my local binding ^X^Q to make the buffer writable. Perhaps my using a different key command screwed something else up. -wdc
