[comp.soft-sys.andrew] Bugs in annotating messages.

wdc@ATHENA.MIT.EDU (Bill Cattey) (02/10/90)

1. I've not been able to find way to save the changed message. The ^X^S
and ^X^W key commands don't work. Filing the message to the folder mail
says that the message is already there. Filing the message to a new
folder moves the file that was in mail to the new folder, rather than
the modified contents.

2. You can only modify one message in an messages session. I made
changes to one message, and then clicked back in the captions sub-window
to read another message. After that, following EXACTLY the same
procedure (clicking in the message window and write-enabling the
buffer), did NOT turn off keyboard commands. I could not even enter a
<space>. The work around for this is to restart messages from scratch.

Please let me know if you can't duplicate this behavior. I have ESC~
re-bound and had to use my local binding ^X^Q to make the buffer
writable. Perhaps my using a different key command screwed something
else up.
