When I built the R4 release of Andrew with the first two patches (Sun 3, SunOS 4.0.3), the wormhole not only showed up in Messages menus by default but worked (hot damn)! Now, when I rebuilt with the third patch, the wormhole doesn't show up at all. From the cmenu help page: Here are some entries you can put into a .Xdefaults file in your home directory to change the way that Andrew menus look. The default value for each entry is shown. ... In fact, setting some entries to their default values in your .Xdefaults file can cause unexpected results, .... ... cmenu.WormHole: 1 ... (Note: this preference is not working dependably in the current release of Andrew.) Putting "cmenu.WormHole: 1" in my .Xdefaults file has no effect (yes, I did xrdb). Putting "cmenu.WormHole: 1" in my preferences file also has no effect. Putting "messages.WormHole: 1" in .Xdefaults turns it on, though. I've seen the same behavior with "cmenu/messages.SelectionFont", for example. I get some strange behavior with the "Read Mail" menu selection, also. If I choose "Read Mail" from the first menu, the wormhole disappears from subsequent menus, until I choose something from one of them, say "Check New Messages". When I do, the wormhole reappears, but warps me to "Read Mail" instead of "Check New Messages". The worst part is that this behavior seems to come and go.
