Specifically a wide ratio (~2.75 1st gear) with overdrive (~0.75-.80) that will mate to a Chevy bell housing. Two possibilities that come to mind are the Doug Nash 5 sp. and the new Chevy 5 sp. Does anyone have any information on these (gear ratios, torque rating)? Torque rating is important as it will be behind a turbo-charged (15-20 psi) 350 ci Chevy (~400 ft-lb of torque). Note: I am interested in any transmission that might work and will consider some machining to make it fit (ie it does not have to fit a Chev bell housing, but it would make life easier). PS. For the record the engine is making ~500 HP and is in a lightened 240Z chassis with reworked suspension. I always wanted a 427SC Cobra but could not afford it so ..... PPS.
