As I think I've mentioned in previous notes on these topics, I'm currently doing research on an Active Mail language that will permit some (but by no means all) of the neat things you can do with Ness but will not have any of the security holes. Given that this is what I'm working on, I started to feel guilty after sending out my latest message to the Andrew mailing lists -- am I contributing to making people run Ness unthinkingly, by sending them these harmless Ness programs? This led me to the question you are now being asked to vote on. What I'd like to know is, how did you respond to my Ness programs? Did you run them? Did you check them first? Please tell the truth, I'd really like to know something about the psychology of these things. (I'm afraid I would have been sorely tempted to run it without checking it myself!)
