[comp.soft-sys.andrew] Spell core dumps

jlevine@oracle.com (Jonathan Levine) (09/07/90)

   I'm running ez 7.0, ATK 15.0 (Patch level 6) on a Sparc 1, SunOS 4.0.3c.
I have ispell installed (and I can invoke it from the same command
line I invoke ez), but ez core dumps when I select check spelling from the
command line.

I'm not sure whether this is a bug or a configuration problem, because I
found earlier this year that Patch level 5 core dumped when it couldn't
find ispell. Has anyone else had this problem? More importantly, has anyone
else solved this problem?

Thanks,

Jon

Not that it helps, but we also had the problem of ez core dumping when
trying to invoke ispell as well. However when I compiled that object
with debugging in an attempt to find out what the problem was, the
problem went away. I therefore installed the object compiled with
debugging in it and have since forgotten about it.

Possibly the buggy version was compiled with -O? On Suns, -O is
notorious for causing core dumps...
