I created a sizeable table (several hundred x several hundred) under table (version 7.0, ATK 15.0) on the i386. Many of the fields had several-dozen-character formulae in them. It was big. I edited it, played around with it, was satisfied that everything was correct. To be safe, I then saved it and opened a new copy of table and edited it. It was trashed. What had happened was that at some point, it had broken the line for the row, and started again on the next line. It had broken it in the middle of a formula, so the whole second line (for each "first line") was nonsense. If I pruned back the number of columns, eventually it would load correctly. I checked under the vax_3.0 systype (Version 7.0, ATK 11.0) and it also had the same failing. My question: Is there something I'm doing wrong? Is this a known bug? What can I do? --Michael Ginsberg, i386 Mach Group, Carnegie Mellon University
