Greetings, I just got the AFS source code from emsworth.andrew.cmu.edu, and have a couple of questions to ask for those who have succesfully setup AFS on the SUN systems: 1. Do I have to have X11-4 in order to run AFS ? Will OpenWindow 2.0 be OK ? 2. I am running a 4/280 on a SUN 4.1. Is there any problem with this configuration? (I've noticed section 1.2.8 of the README note mentioned that there were some reported problem with Sparc systems, but the note was written on Nov 1989 of last year) Please let me know as soon as possible, because I am anxious to get this installed on my system. Thanks. Tony tran@bungi.com

Clarification: I believe that it was the Andrew source code that you got from emsworth.andrew.cmu.edu, not the AFS source code (which is available via Transarc Corp.). Andrew (the ATK component, at least) runs under X11, either release 3 or release 4. It doesn't run under OpenWindow. If you're trying to use SunOS 4.1, I believe that you should wait until the next patch comes out. Craig

It doesn't run under OpenWindow. Andrew runs fine under OpenWindows 2.0. I'm running that way right now. --Dwight D.
