I am trying to implement a distribution list using AMS without AMSD, or
whitepages. Is this possible?  I have followed the instructions in
    helpdlist, but the message is returned with User unknown. 
Anysuggestions.

The information in ``help dlist'' describes a feature of AMDS, not of
the AMS user interfaces.

Generally, you're stuck with whatever your transport mechanism provides.
 For instance, if this is sendmail, you get sendmail aliases and
:include: files.
