I am trying to build andrew on a sun4 running SunOS 4.1.1. I am having trouble with the makedo program. It is hanging. It seems to be stuck in a pause. I am new at this thing, so I am a little confused. Has anybody else seen this trouble? Am I missing something? --Steve Williams steve@lia.com

The move from SunOS4.0 ==> 4.1 was too much for the dynamic loading to bear. That's unfortunate, but the good news is that SunOS4.1 supports dynamic loading and some good work was done by Guy Harris to get us there. The result of his effort (and alot of other work) will be part of patch.10, soon to come out. In short, if you're planning on building Andrew on a SunOS4.1 machine, please wait for the next patch.
