In response to Keith Bauer's note about federalizing interesting exoticars, does anyone have information about a "one shot" exemption for cars brought over for personal use? I seem to remember hearing about an "add on" to the import law that would allow a person a once-in-a-lifetime exemption on an otherwise non-importable car (i.e., you could bring in one non-modified car during your lifetime provided it was not brought over for resale). - Ralph Droms Penn. It seems the EPA was willing to make some exceptions to their rules involving exoticars and their importation, but the NHTSB (known as "The Safety Nazis" to readers of Car and Driver) said no dice. Exoticars just weren't tough/safe enough for them. Probably to fast, too. The Government ALWAYS knows best......doesn't it?
