[alt.msdos.programmer] Accessing the floppy controller

roy%cybrspc@cs.umn.edu (Roy M. Silvernail) (05/30/91)

Can someone give me a pointer to some references on accessing the floppy
controller directly? I'm trying to read some non-DOS disks, and neither
Int13h or Int25h seem to do the trick. They both are telling me
"requested sector not found", which isn't surprising but also not too
helpful. How do I get to the hardware and read (and write) physical
track/sector locations?

Example code in C or asm would really help. I know there must be a way
to do this, because TeleDisk can read these disks just fine.

Thanks in advance. Oh, and if you post, please cc: me in mail. This
site expires things rather quickly. :-(
