I recently bought a used car with an electric rear-window defogger, and couldn't get it to work. Switches, relays, and wiring are all okay, but each horizontal heating element strip has a break in it somewhere (easily identifiable by running a probe of a 12-volt test light along the length of the strip until the light goes out). I read in the consumer magazine Changing Times that there is a product made by Loctite that enables one to fix these by "painting" the product over heating element cracks or breaks. The magazine says it costs ~$10. Has anyone ever heard of this product or tried it? I'll appreciate any comments, and will summarize on the net if anyone else is interested.
