[comp.realtime] Exabyte and VxWorks

Is anyone running Exabyte tape drives in the vxWorks environment?
We are trying to decide which SCSI controller to put in our vxWorks
system and would like to buy one that has an existing driver if
possible. Possible candidates are the Ciprico 3510 or the MVME 147.

Any advice/help will be appreciated.

I don't think Wind River Systems has their SCSI driver for the MVME-147
board done yet. We've been running vxWorks on a MVME-147 for almost a
year now and we haven't had a driver for the SCSI port.

There is an effort to port the SCSI driver on MVE-147 and it is happening
here at Evans & Sutherland. We have taken a source from Wind River and have
been tinkering to make it work with SCSI winchesters. Basically, CCS(common
command set) is implemented. This means it should be able to support
SCSI tape drive.

Well, hopefully, this will be shared as intended.
