[comp.realtime] Question on SCSI utilization from VXWrks real-time kernel

gerald@ge1cbx.UUCP (Gerald Aden) (10/07/89)

I am looking for someone who has used the SCSI bus from the VxWorks real-time
kernel. Specifically, I'm hoping to find someone who has done Ethernet type
communication protocol over the SCSI bus using sockets (TCP/IP). However, any
type of SCSI communication from either the VxWrks or VRTX32 kernels would be
helpful.

I am trying to find a high speed data path between two Motorola boards other
than the ethernet path available. I am hoping to find a SCSI solution that
will not only allow me to transfer large amounts of data (1-2MB) but will also
allow me to download executable code to the second 147 board over the SCSI as
Wind Rivers already allows over the VME backplane. This would be a SCSI version
of the Wind Rivers famous VME backplane driver. This current VME backplane
driver can be used to download from a SUN-3E VME 6U card set to a target 680x0
board over the backplane as opposed to the Ethernet. I still desire to maintain
disk I/O on the SCSI while providing this SCSI 147 to 147 data path. I
understand the 147 prom has a SCSI driver in it.

Any information would be helpful.

                                                       Thanks in advance,
                                                       Gerald Aden
