There has been some confusion (on my part, mainly) about the license I included with the SCSI driver. I guess I hadn't realized the true meaning of the phrase "public domain". The intent of our software distribution is closest to that of GNU's copyleft: as long as it comes with our good graces (i.e. accompanied by a file that says "this is with our good graces, in a few more words"), you are free to mangle, copy, use, distribute, sit on, or otherwise abuse our software. The *only* caveat is that we still have our name and copyright notice somewhere available (hey.. it took a lot of sweat to write this stuff; we want *some* credit :-) for perusing. If someone can rephrase our license to reflect this, I'd appreciate any suggestions. None of us are lawyers (thank god). PS - the software *is* copyrighted; is merely removing the "public domain" notice adequate, as one person suggested to me? Thanks for your patience! -Roger -- UUCP: ..!uunet!unhd!rg | USPS: Marine Systems Engineering Laboratory BITNET: r_gonzalez at unhh | University of New Hampshire PHONE: (603) 862-4600 | Marine Programs Building FAX: (603) 862-4399 | Durham, NH 03824-3525
