I would very much appreciate any comments you might have regarding
the experience. Both positive and negative. Any comments regarding
support by their respective vendors (Wind River Systems, Software Components
Group, and Ready Systems) are also of interest.

There are many cheaper alternatives out there, and unless you need things like file I/O, I would suggest checking them out.
