[comp.realtime] Realtine DB info wanted

wang@ai.toronto.edu (Huaiqing Wang) (08/23/90)

Hello.
I need some information about real-time databases.
I am currently working on a realtime process control project.
I have to have a real-time database to store real-time data.

       Any information would be welcome.

what type of operating system are you working with???? pc-based???

i am somewhat familiar with process control under qnx, and it seems that
db-vista has been what people are using there with good success.

I don't know much about it personally, but I have seen a data sheet
for HP Real-Time Database (HP RTDB). Some particulars plagiarized
from the data sheet follow:

HP Real-Time Database (HP RTDB)

Product Number 92572A - Development Copy
               92572E - Right to Execute

Runs on HP9000/800s and /300s

Provides software application developers with a flexible tool to structure
and access memory-resident data in industrial automation, telecommunications,
and other very high speed applications. It is a library of routines used to:

o Define or change the database schema and events

o Build the database in memory, load/unload data

 o Read/write data from/to the memory-resident database

 o Backup schema and data

o Archive data with time stamp and header information

It also has an interactive query facility to configure the database, aid in
debugging applications, and execute command lists. RTDB is one of HP's
Industrial Precision Tools.
