I am amazed at the number of people that replied to my little note, and I noticed that the replies came under 3 major categories: 1. Musclecars weren't that great and besides today's cars handle much better. 2. Musclecars were great, I liked them, but I drive a Volvo now. 3. Musclecars rule. I fit into the third category myself, I have always liked these cars, and probably always will. To the people who emphasize handling, you must be in your own 'musclecar heaven' these days, and I envy you. I wish I could walk down to the local dealership and test-drive a car that was powerful as easily as you could walk to the same dealership and win an autocross. To each his own, right? I will have to admit that the cars of today handle much better thatn the brutes of yesteryear, but even so, I still like those old cars better. Besides I can pick up an old car and fix it up for 1/3 the cost of a new car. And gas mileage? As someone before said, you can buy a whole lot of gasoline for the difference in cost. still a gearhead, Pat Mancuso ...psuvax!mancuso Q7F%PSUVM P.S. I apologize for the many, many copies of my parts wanted ad for my firebird, but netnews works funny on psuvm, and from my point of view, my messages were disappearing after a day or two, and I wasn't getting any replies. I have since found out that the netnews on that machine is a subset of the 'real' netnews (which I'm on now) so I wasn't getting your replies. Again, I apologize.
