[comp.realtime] OS/9000

rhl@computing-maths.cardiff.ac.uk (Robert Hartill) (10/31/90)

I'm looking into realtime operating systems and have been given the name
'OS/9000', i believe it is derived from OS/9.

I know nothing about either of the above so could someone out there help ?

some references, breif introduction, comments ?

Thanks,

    Robert Hartill

Could someone supply a pointer to any papers on OS-9000, I have
recently heard some wild and wonderful things about it.

OS-9000 is a sister operating system to OS-9, with portability among processor
families its largest difference. Whereas OS-9 is optimized for the 68xxx
family, OS-9000 will run on the 68020/30/40, 80386[SX]/486, and will soon
run on 88000 and SPARC. It is source-level compatible with OS-9.

Further information may be obtained in the comp.os.os9 newsgroup, or contact
