First Announcement and Call for Papers -------------------------------------- 10th IFAC Workshop on Distributed Computer Control Systems Towards Distributed Real-Time Systems with Predictable Timing Properties 9.-11.9.1991 Austria Scope: ------ The workshop consists of formal presentations of contributed papers, followed by question and answer sessions and informal open discussion meetings. The topics and subjects to be covered will be, but are not restricted to: - The role of Real-Time in DCCS specifications - Designing Software with predictable execution times - Real-Time Distributed Operating Systems and Databases - Real-Time Communication System Architectures including MAP and Fieldbus - Testing the timing properties of DCCS - Dependability issues of DCCS - Current and future impact of novel Computer Architectures on DCCS - Insights gained from existing DCCS Registration: ------------- Attendance will be limited to a maximum of 60 participants, to whom a letter of invitation will be forwarded before the workshop. Participants are requested to make advance registration by filling the registration form and submitting the payment as soon as possible after the receipt of the letter of invitation, but not later than June 30,1991. Important Dates: ---------------- Extended abstract March 15, 1991 Selection and Notification May 15, 1991 Preliminary registration June 30, 1991 Workshop September 9-11, 1991 Location: --------- Hotel Panhans Semmering, Austria (80 km from Vienna; can be reached easily by train from Vienna) Extended Abstracts: ------------------- Fifteen (15) copies of a 1000-2000 word extended abstract should be submitted by March 15, 1991. This abstract should outline the contribution the author intends to make at the Workshop. The invitation will be based on the assessments of the extended abstract by the Programme Committee. Please include e-mail and Fax-number with your address. Papers: ------- The final manuscript of accepted papers should be prepared in accordance with the "Instruction for Authors", which will be sent to each author together with the letter of invitation. It is planned to publish selected papers of the Workshop and a summary of the discussions in the DCCS-91 Workshop Proceedings by Pergamon Press. Copyright: ---------- Only papers not published or being considered for publication elsewhere may be submitted. IFAC holds the copyright for publication of the papers. Papers submitted to any Symposium are also considered to have been submitted for possible publication in IFAC Journal AUTOMATICA. However, if the author is not notified within three months after the Symposium that the paper is to be reviewed for AUTOMATICA, then it is released for publication elsewhere. In this case, the publication shall contain reference to the paper having been presented at an IFAC Symposium.
