[comp.realtime] looking for info on embedded real-time OS's

bill@franklin.com (bill) (06/30/91)

We will be doing a system that is going to be needing a real-time
OS. The hardware is proprietary, though based on a standard
processor, and the requirements somewhat general, though there
are some known limits. (The real-time part *is* specified; it is
the rest that is general.) This is a *small* system, not
something that will support Unix. :-)

We are in the process of defining the OS, but I think we should
also look at existing OS's, either because they can be ported to
our platform, or because studying their interfaces would help us
avoid design errors.

Anway, I'd be interested in information (names, phone numbers,
etc.) about products, specifications, and freely distributable
systems that might be worth looking up.

I do not read these newsgroups, so please send me e-mail instead
of posting. If there is any interest, I will post a summary in
comp.realtime.

Thanks
