Things seem to be moving along in my research on my Evolution class term paper. As I previously said I found the following article: Bermingham E. and J.C. Avise. 1986. Molecular zoogeography of freshwater fishes in the southeastern United States. Genetics 113: 939-965. I also found a second article: Avise J.C. 1989. Gene trees and organismal histories: A phylogenetic approach to population biology. Evolution 43: 1192-1208. It seems to me at this time that the paper by Bermingham will most likely be the main paper on which I'll base my topic. The article by Advise should be a good supplement to this...In addition, this article by Advise contains other papers in the Literature Cited Section that should be extremely useful to me. An additional article in this Literature Cited Section could really help to tie this paper together: Slatkin M. 1987. Gene flow and the geographic structure of natural populations. Science 236: 787-792. Does anyone know if any of these authors can be contacted directly by bitnet E-Mail? If so, please let me know. I'd greatly appreciate it.
