isis seems to have a nasty interaction with the sun supplied portmapper, i.e. whenever i zap all of the isisi on the net with "isis -Z" the portmapper on at least one of the sun 3/80's on the net will suddenly die. The machine must be rebooted to recover from this. The portmapper on the 3/x80 series seems to be very fragile, and often dies randomly, but the zap will get at least one of them every time. this also happens at a customer site that runs a 3/480, although not as frequently. none of the other suns are affected. has anyone else observed this behavior? know of any fixes or work arounds? the SUNOS gods here are persuing this through sun channels as well, but have no answers as yet. any hints greatly appreciated... g'day! tim edwards tim@capmkt.com capmkt!tim@uunet.uu.net capital market technolgies, inc.
