Some people have asked if they could have early access to the ISIS V2.0 manual and online manual pages. These are now available on the cornell system for FTP access (see the letter we sent you when you requested ISIS for details on the machine name and so forth). The documentation is available in a DVI file called ISISV20-DOC.dvi.Z and the man pages and latex source of the manual can be found in the V2.0 beta distribution, ISISV20.TAR.Z We expect to update both of these files roughly weekly during the beta-test period. I won't be posting anything about these updates to this group, but Robert Cooper and I will be happy to answer questions. The beta-test itself is for use by the five beta-test sites I have been in contact with. If you play with it, you are on your own at this stage. Several of the new mechanisms are still known to be buggy, but it works fairly well with BYPASS disabled if you stick to the old stuff. We welcome comments about the extensions to the system. Ken Kane has agreed to revamp the log tool before leaving for his new job at SUN, so if you have comments about this facility, email to kane@svax.cs.cornell.edu sometime soon. The extensions will be in the V2.0 general release. Ken
