[comp.sys.isis] ISIS redesign: Technology review planned

ken@cs.cornell.edu (Ken Birman) (03/23/91)

Recently, I posted a description of our plans to rethink and redesign
all of ISIS from the ground up. A number of readers asked for a chance
to see our design documents.

Our redesign has now been underway for some time and is reaching a
point where we plan a review ("workshop"?) for interested, sophisticated
parties. I have a list of people who will be invited because my group
has interacted with them extensively, but we will consider having other
attendees too, if the number is small and the individuals seem like
people who could shed a useful perspective on our planning. The review
will be in late April or early May. Let me know if you would like to
attend, and if we don't know you, perhaps indicate what you do and
why you are interested in participating.

The meeting will be in Ithaca and you will have to pay your own expenses.
There will be no workshop fee.

We also plan to circulate the interface documents themselves sometime
this summer, and will welcome comments.
