[comp.sys.isis] Porting ISIS to new environments

wright@hsi86.hsi.com (Gary Wright) (04/09/91)

Is there an ISIS porting guide available? I'd like to get ISIS
running under DG/UX 4.31 (Data General's version of UNIX). It is
a System V + BSD + POSIX version of UNIX with the gnu C compiler.

Can anyone provide a checklist of files to look at and modify for
a new environment? I have already taken a peak at isis.h.
I'd like to be a bit more methodical at this than simply running
through numerous compile/edit cycles.

Thanks in advance for any pointers.

Yes, there is a file called "v21.ports" somewhere in the distribution
(check the "man" area), and copies can also be found on ftp.cs.cornell.edu
It covers all the issues very systematically.

I'll email a copy later today.
