[net.auto] 1983 Cutless Ciera

rdk@ihuxa.UUCP (06/23/83)

I recently purchased a 1983 Cutless Ciera with a 4 cylinder.
It is fully powered with every option available. My problem
is that I started to lose power after traveling about 60 miles
at 60 mph. The car only has 400 miles on it, but I am concerned
that I will not be able to go on long trips. Does anybody else
have a Ciera with a 4 cylinder? Is the 4 cylinder going to be
enough for a car of this size? For those people who have this
car, do you also experience the above problem?

				Thanks, Bob Kindelberger

60mph for 60 miles on 4 cylinders with only 400 miles on the odometer
is shear folly! What doeas the owners manual say about the break period
and method? Give the engine a break. (no punn intended) With that kind
of "break-in" I doubt the engine will last very long. Besides, YOUR SPEEDING!
Is this your first new car? The only engine I know of that can break-in
at that speed and distance iss the old V8. All I can say is "LOTS OF LUCK"!
