Description of the 16/18S rRNA seqs Hypercard stack, by JWBrown
--------------------------------------------------------------
16/18S rRNA seqs ("16/18S") is a Hypercard stack for the Apple
Macintosh series microcomputer. The stack is designed for use by
scientists (molecular biologists in particular) for the storage & retrieval of
non-aligned small subunit ribosomal RNA sequences. The current version of
16/18S comes with 228 16/18S rRNA sequences from all three phylogenetic
Kingdoms. rRNA sequences are accessed through a series of linked
phylogenetic trees; clicking at any terminal node of a tree will either take
you one level higher (or lower) in the overall tree, or will present a menu of
choices of rRNA sequences from the phylogenetic group represented by that
node. 16/18S will run on any Macintosh computer that can run Hypercard.
Hypercard 1.1 (or later) required.

This stack is available by anonymous ftp from the bionet
archives at net.bio.net, currently in the /receive directory.
You may also contact the author to receive a bitnet mailing
of the stack (~400Kbytes) or send a floppy disk by mail to him.
