Description of the Materials & Methods Hypercard stack, by JWBrown -------------------------------------------------------------- Materials & Methods ("M&M") is a Hypercard stack for the Apple Macintosh series microcomputer. The stack is designed for use by scientists (molecular biologists in particular) for the storage, retrieval & dissemination of laboratory protocols. The current version of M&M (3.1) comes pre-loaded with many protocols (67) of general interest, as well as some of more specific interest to those working with RNAs and methanogens. The stack has automatic systems for adding new procedures (either typed in directly, or copied from text-only files) and deleting unwanted procedures. All procedures are user-editable and can be printed or saved as MacWrite disk files. The stack is designed to function as much as possible like a standard Macintosh application, with a menubar, pull-down menus, buttons and windows. M&M will run on any Macintosh computer that can run Hypercard, but users of large-screen monitors will find that M&M misplaces menus (this problem will be fixed in later versions of M&M). Hypercard 1.1 (or later) required. Contact address : James W.
