A student in the department needs a program which will calculate oligo Tms for making probes for sequencing a region which is (1) highly repetitive and (2) unreachable by Sequinase (tm?). I have looked at the UH archives, the GenBank FTP archives, my own unbelieveably motley collection of Mac and PC sequence software, the GCG programs, the Hugo Martinez ARP package, the IBI PC and Mac package, David Mount's program, the Caltech pgms from the MBCRR, and some interesting Soviet software which may become available publically in the US at some point. None of these have such a function, alto I'm *sure* I've seen one somewhere. Can anyone help? And no, we don't have the $$$ to subscribe to the GenBank OnLine stuff, which does include such a function in one of the IG programs (this student used that function extensively on BIONET, but NIH says we can get all that on our own machines now, while they cut our budgets, right? Sigh.). No, we can't buy PC-Gene either.
