Prosearch software for searching protein sequences for patterns in the Prosite database is available from the EMBL server. The Prosite database is now at version 5.1. The last release of Prosearch included data for the Prosite 5.0 database. The differences between 5.0 and 5.1 of the database are minimal. In fact with respect to the patterns and the description of the patterns there are *mo* changes. As a result, there will not be an update of Prosearch at this time. There are two minor fixes to the data, one a small error by Amos Barioch, and one an error by me. The Fixes are below. In file Prosite.doc the line {PS00029; ENGRAILED} should be => {PS00033; ENGRAILED} In prosite.regex the line PS00267 F[IVFY]G[LM]M[G$] TACHYKININ PDOC00240 should be replaced by two lines PS00267 F[IVFY]G[LM]M$ TACHYKININ PDOC00240 PS00267 F[IVFY]G[LM]MG TACHYKININ PDOC00240 -- Frank Kolakowski ====================================================================== |lfk@athena.mit.edu || Lee F.
